*ABOUT YUSUKE*
Nationality: Japanese.
Birthday: September 21st, 1974.
Birthplace (just born): Kurashiki, Okayama pref., Japan.
Spent 7 years at Itami, Hyogo prefecture and then moved to Otsu, Shiga. Published the 300+ paged original comic book when junior highschool period. Began oilpainting at the Art Club of Zeze High School. Moved to Nagoya, Aichi when entering Nagoya University after 1 year preparation. Now, belong to the Doctoral course of the Graduate School of Human Informatics, Nagoya Univ. My research subject is systematic analyses of land degradation and erosion modeling. Got married on February, 2002 but moved to Nairobi, Kenya alone (i. e. left my wife in Japan) on the next month as a resident director of JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science), Nairobi Research Station. Got back to Japan on April 2003 but luckily I had a chance to visit Kenya again (and again and again..) as a geologist. Oilpainting has been stopped and I have drawn in pencils, oil pastels and water-soluble crayons since I went to Kenya but I restarted in 2004. My oilpainting works were selected 5 times to public exhibitions and prized at 1 public exhibition. Also, 2 personal exhibitions were held in Nagoya on March, 2002 and in Tokyo on February, 2005 and participated in an exhibition (artfair, 30th anniversary event of a gallery) in Barcelona on March, 2003.

This Toyota Landcruiser VX is the one which I was driving in Kenya mainly for field research. I took this photograph between Kijabe and Naivasha where are located at the bottom of the Great Rift Valley.
