Irish potatoes in a bag

I like drawing something transparent like this cellophane bag. Careful observation and depiction of this kind of things can make me realize again how the air pressure, light and shadows are. Harvested foods in a bag is also an interesting subject to show the reality of our consuming lives. sketched on the 1st of May, 2009.

It is not very common to eat escargots in Japan but I really like them. My wife found the frozen escargots on sale then she purchased. I cooked paella for dinner yesterday and the escargots were served with paella. So good. Sketched three shells out of six on the 7th of June, 2009.

Echinoderm fossil

I visited Chita peninsula, central Japan the day before yesterday and I collected some fossil samples from Miocene (17 Ma) sedimentary rocks. The yellowish part is the fossil of a sea urchin (Echinoderm) and the rock is siltstone. Sketched on the 25th of May, 2009.
