baguette

I often sketch sliced pieces of baguette but it's few to sketch a whole one. This is one of those rare sketches painted on the 2nd of January, 2009.

A piece of baguette (to the memory of prof. Nishizawa)

bread091220

As I announced in the side bar of this weblog, my new book of oil pastel works is hot off the presses at Blurb.com. In the dedication page, I mentioned a name of a professor who encouraged me a lot in my artistic activities no less than my academic works. This bread sketch is an homage to him because he liked my bread paintings. I heard the sad news of his death on the 20th of December, 2009 by his wife's letter, then I sketched this on the day.

Two candles

candles091203

These candles were for my wife's birthday cake but they actually were somewhat training materials for my son to practice blowing out candles on his coming 2nd birthday. The result? Yes, he successfully blew out though he couldn't at the exercise. I sketched this on the 3rd of December, 2009, my wife's birthday.

Tricycle

Sorry that I have been so lazy these days. It's been more than a month since I last updated this weblog... I keep sketching as always, though.
This is a trike of my son. A bit retro-designed product of Radio Flyer. He really likes this. I sketched this on the 21st of January, 2010.
