Toy box

kaloo080725

This toy box is originally a part of a package of the gift but now used for a container of my son's toys.:) I sketched this on the 25th July, 2008. My son first picked up his favorite toy out of this box on that day—this must be a memorial sketch!

I'm travelling to Syria again from today for a couple of weeks. I sketched my son while he's sleeping right before I leave my home. I hope he looks bigger next time I see him!

Cloth picturebook

picturebook080421

This is a picture book made with clothes, given by a friend of my wife's as a gift. Kids may be happy with this kind of book anywhere on the go. It must be a little too early for my son, though... Well, by the way it looks like a hamburger.;p I sketched this on the 21st of April, 2008.

Horse skeleton

equus080408

I sketched a skeletal preparation of a horse as a study for oil painting on the 8th of April, 2008. I separately sketched the left and right parts of the specimen on the separate black papers. The oil painting work will be expanded and printed as a part of the 8 meter wide display board at the entrance hall of the university museum. The original work will be exhibited inside. The original painting and the entrance display are going to be shown at the renewal day of the Nagoya University Museum on the 30th of May, 2008.

This is a Japanese local type (Kiso) of a common horse, Equus caballus. This individual named "Dai-san Haruyama-go" was the final thoroughbred of this local type (not a Thoroughbred... :) )and lived during the years since 1952 to 1975. The specimen shows the type's physical peculiarity.

Sweet springs

sweetspring080411

This fruit is a Japanese orange named "sweet spring". My uncle sent the box of them to me the other day. I sketched two of them on the 11th of April, 2008 to make this sketch layouted in a postcard saying thanks. ;) The taste is quite nice.
