An ear of maize

Maize (corn) from a farm in Mie prefecture, central Japan. Very very sweet. I got surprised to eat this maize at a farm-managed restaurant and then I have bought an ear today. Sketched this on the day I bought—the 13th of July, 2009.

I like drawing something transparent like this cellophane bag. Careful observation and depiction of this kind of things can make me realize again how the air pressure, light and shadows are.
