Leather glove

You can never leave gloves away when you ride a bicycle in winter time here in Nagoya. :-( I bought this sheep-skin leather glove a few years ago and it already became wrinkled to show my right hand's shape—I found that leather gloves are interesting subject to express the history/personality, not only an object as is seen. This was painted on the 19th of November, 2008.

Ready to paint?

Sorry for the long silence since I last updated this blog last month. I sketched my son's hand while he was asleep together with a single oil pastel stick of Sennelier on the 30th of November, 2008. At this time, he was 10 months old and he has just became 1 year old last week.

Now, let me introduce a good article at emptyeasel.com titled "Oil Pastels 101: A Comprehensive Guide to Painting with Oil Pastel". This article about oil pastels was written by Robert Sloan, American oil pastel artist/writer. Comprehensive knowledge about this fine art medium is intelligibly explained. My painting of three green apples is shown in this article. Thank you, Robert. Thank you, editors. Thank you, visitors.
