Twilight

One of the oldest OP works of mine. You may see this in the header area of this weblog. I started oil pastels instead of oil painting because I couldn't carry pinting tools to Kenya. It was 2002.
The silhouetted tree is jacaranda in the compound of where I lived in Westlands, Nairobi. I painted the colors of twilight sky with water-soluble crayons and oil pastels first, and then captured the jacaranda tree with inks on it. I painted this on the 13th of July, 2002.

Miracle loaves

I tried to use this totally black paper for painting dramatic pictures like the way Caravaggio did. I have painted this on the 12th February, 2007 but retouched several times later. Great suggestions at "WetCanvas!" helped me express the shadows. This funny title (miracle loaves) was also named in this forum. Thanks oilpastelists!
