Three escargot shells

It is not very common to eat escargots in Japan but I really like them. My wife found the frozen escargots on sale then she purchased. I cooked paella for dinner yesterday and the escargots were served with paella. So good. Sketched three shells out of six on the 7th of June, 2009.

Tilapias and catfishes

I visited a fishing village named Kusa located beside the Lake Victoria. These fishes were just landed when I had visited. I painted this after getting back to the hotel in Kisumu referring to a photograph. It was on the 23rd of August, 2008.

Xenopus laevis. The name "African clawed frog" is more popular? This funny pet is from my office (I work for a museum). I sketched her (this is female) on the 4th December, 2007.

Ayu

We call this freshwater fish "Ayu". Someone calls "sweetfish" in English but I'm not sure this is universally known. Scientifically, Plecoglossus altivelis.
These are raw; before cooking. I didn't have time to sketch after cooking. ;) Sketched on the 10th June, 2007.

This cat is named "Koma". A lovely pet at my parents-in-law's house. Originally, my wife's pet. I sketch her everytime I visit there. This one was done on the 20th January, 2007.

Catalan cat

I found this kitten near MNAC (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) when I have visited Barcelona in 2002/2003. Luckily I had a small sketch book and oilpastels then I could draw this. The date I drew this is the 29th of December, 2002.
