Chinese quince

Chinese quince (Chaenomeles sinensis). This was harvested at a botanical garden of the university museum. Painted this on 16th November, 2006.

I don't know how you get such detail! Are you useing oil pencils? Lovely!!

Well, I don't use oil pencils. Just oil pastels. I usually paint with Senneliers, Caran'd'Ache neo pastels and Sakura Cray-Pas. I rub or scrape OPs with fingers for smooth surfaces and use the OP edges or nails for details. Sometimes tortillons but not usual. I'm a finger person. ;)
