This is a souvenir from my brother when he travelled Italy for his honeymoon. He said he bought this when transit at Helsinki, Finland. Yes, its handle is an antler of a young reindeer. Sketched this on the 4th of January, 2009.
Your work is great. I'm getting started with oil pastels, I wonder if you could share the number of pastels you work with? I bought a simple set of 24, and I find it hard to get all the subtle variations on color I want by blending. Do you have a large range of colors in your palette, or are simply blending? Do you use turpentine etc at all for blending?
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your comment. Sorry for the late reply.
It's hard to tell you the individual numbers of OP sticks I use because I don't take care of the numbers while painting. But mainly I use Sennelier OPs together with the other assorted brands such as Caran d'Ache neopastels, Sakura Cray-Pas Specialists, and Faber-Castells. My Senneliers are 48 colour set but I additionally bought much more single sticks. Maybe I've got around 100 in total. So... I think I have a large range of colours but I do like blending with my fingers as well. I hope this reply will help you.
