I sketched my baby boy while he was asleep. He is now 2 month old but he's going to be 3 month next week. It was on the 12th of April, 2008.

It took me much, much longer than that to attempt to sketch my little girl while she was sleeping, and I still haven't done so in oil pastel (not from life)! This is beautiful. Your son will treasure these artworks someday.

Yeah, kids change their bodies unexpectedly often while they are sleeping... I never tried painting from reference photos. Maybe combining photo and life can make it easy and completed the child portrait.
