Furoshiki

furoshiki070517

Furoshiki, a Japanese traditional wrapping cloth, is quite handy and useful, and good for cutting down plastic bags. I wrapped my clothes for a short trip and sketched it on the 17th of May, 2007.

Beautiful and so much prettier than a plastic bag!

Yusuke,

Someone commented on my own blog today with the name "Artist at Heart!"... I googled it, and found your art blogs. Wow! Very impressive. I am amazed at all you do and your art work is very inspiring. I too commented on the Furoshiki because here in the states, we are trying to eliminate plastic bag use. I think this is a beautiful and truly Japanese invention- so perfect! I hope people there like to use Furoskiki. I think it would be popular here in the states if they could teach us how to fold it! I tried to make some oragami with my son recently, and did not do so well! It is hard to learn, I think! If you were the one who posted to my blog today, I am honored. Thank you. Keep up the great work. You are very talented in so many things. Bless.

C.Proppé,

Thank you for the comment. I don't think the person who commented on your blog is me —Maybe coincidence.:o There must be several "Artist at Heart" in the world. Anyway, I'm happy that you found my blog and left the comment on my works and furoshiki. I'm not very experienced in folding furoshikis but I'd like to master some. Origami is a lot of fun as you know, I hope you and your son enjoy them and try Furoshikis someday later. Well, it must be my turn, I'll google to find your blog. :) Thanks.
