Turquoise prayer beads

I bought this prayer beads in Damascus souk. Though this is for Muslims, it seems that I can use this for Buddhism way. Beads are turquoise and the metallic part is silver. Beautiful. I sketched this on the 10th of June, 2010.

Kuksa

This is a gift to my sons from my brother. Kuksa is a life-long wooden cup from Finland to be given. It seems a bit hard to maintain long but I hope my sons will like them. Sketched on the 22nd of August, 2010, when it was delivered.

Ulaanbaatar Scene—Lenin

Bronze statue of Lenin still stands in the central Ulaanbaatar though it has been about 20 years since the democratization. The building behind is the five star Soviet-styled hotel. Stars are symbolic?! I sketched this at the square on the 25th of August, 2010.

Another cityscape in Ulaanbaatar. The river is named the Selbe, that flows southward in the eastern part of the city. I sketched this from the walkway facing south on the 26th of August, 2010.

Pitaya

Another one from Okinawa. Pitaya (Hylocereus sp.) now seemed to be popular there and is called a "dragon fruit". This is a cactus group and I heard it was easy to grow even in the main island (Honshyu)'s wintertime then I bought two branches. This sketch was done on the 4th of August, 2010.

Sorry for the interval again, visitors. After getting back from UK, I have been a bit too busy to upload my sketches here. I travelled to Okinawa and bought this bottle of spice. This spice is the local chili peppers in Awamori, local spirits. Very hot but quite nice with Okinawan cuisine. Sketched on the 9th of August, 2010.

100 year-old house in Tunbridge Wells

I was invited to my acquaintance's house (I should call him as my colleague? friend? anyway, he's a very nice big gentleman!) in Tunbridge Wells. This is his 100 year-old house. This is only a part of the house. I sketched this at his garden enjoying some home harvested berries before dinnertime. Done on the 7th of July, 2010.
