Exhibition Report:

KaerimichiOilpaintings and Drawings by Yusuke Katsurada

The second personal exhibition of me, Yusuke Katsurada, was held at a bar named “Shimokitazawa offBEAT” in Tokyo, Japan on February, 2005. This unique mini-exhibition is a collaboration with music—All of the exhibited works were inspired by the music of Rivendell, the harp-accordion duo of traditional Irish music and they performed the live show on February 26th.

I was inspired by a tune, “Kaerimichi and Jigs” from the Rivendell’s latest album “Blessing”, and painted five new oilpaintings under the theme, “Kaerimichi (means ‘the way home’ in Japanese)”. This title was took from the title of a tune.

This report pages present you the photographs and some brief explanations of the works of this exhibition and the live show. I hope you can imagine the atmosphere of the exhibition.
