This work was the one I painted for the personal exhibition when I had been extraordinarily busy for doing lots of things right before the exhibition such as preperation of moving to Africa, marriage, lecture at a conference and of course preperation for the exhibition... Well, this is the portrait of Tom Waits, my favorite musician. The motief was took from a monocrome picture of a booklet of the album Foreign Affairs. Can you imagine the scenery of old dark midnight bar and beatnik-like performin Waits? This is the last work before leaving Japan and exhibited as a new work with Moonlight Dog at the personal exhibition. |
