The autumn scenery of Korankei, Aichi pref. is very famous and so it is crowded with really a lot of people every fall. But I didn’t paint so many figures because I wanted to express autumnal leaves and the tiled roof better than the crowd. A few people who is painted in this work means the opposing elements, i. e. small human beings against the power of nature and the human energy.
